The first place “Bulles de Champagne Collier (Champagne Bubbles Necklace).”
The winners of the 2009 champagne diamond jewelry design competition was announced by Rio Tinto recently.
The competitors of the design competition which was unveiled in May 2009 were told to create original designs that incorporates champagne diamonds of different sizes and a wide range of colour from light champagne to cognac hue.
The first place was won by Evelyn Huang of EvelynH Jewelry Inc. for her “Bulles de Champagne Collier (Champagne Bubbles Necklace),” Huang a talented jewelry designer has also won many awards which include the 2009 Women’s Jewelry Association DIVA Design Competition.
The judges for the design competition included professionals in the feild of fashion and jewelry designing. Some of the judges were prominent fashion journalists .
The manager of Rio Tinto Diamonds U.S, Rebecca Foerster said “We were delighted with the level of interest in the competition from all sectors of the diamond industry and we look forward to working with the winning designers to showcase their creativity.”
The second place was won by Joana Miranda of Glendale for her Champagne Tango earrings.
The third place was won by Graham Edney of Santa Barbara for the Butterfly Drop earrings.
