The 7th Jaipur Jewellery Show JJS 2009 was held from the 19th to 22nd of December 2009.
many jewellery exporters from Sri Lanka participated in the Sri Lanka Pavilion of the Jaipur Jewellery Show 2009. The Sri Lanka pavilion was organized by the National Gem and Jewellery Authority (NGJA).
The Jaipur Jewellery Show is the second largest jewellery show in North India. The venue of the show was the Hotel Rajmahal Palace, Sardar Patel Marg, Jaipur. The Raj Mahal Palace, built in 1729 had served many high profile guests such as Prince Charles, Queen Elizabeth II and Lady Diana. The hotel has excellent accommodation facilities which includes Royal Suites, Junior suites, standard rooms and superior rooms. The rooms are also decorated with antiques, art works and fabrics. There are also excellent dining(multi cuisine restaurant) and business facilities which includes a safe deposit box.
Jaipur, a famous tourist destination, known as the pink city, because it is the hub of colored gemstones is also well known for crafts and arts.
The first Jaipur Jewellery Show was held in 2003. Every year the JJS promotes a gemstone. This time it promoted the gemstone Tanzanite.
The chief guest this year to the Jaipur Jewellery Show was Ms Varda Shine, the Managing Directorof the Diamond Trading Company (DTC).
