FACETS 2009, Sri Lanka’s International Gem and Jewellery Exhibition is to be held from 3rd to 6th September 2009.
Held annually in Colombo since 1991 with state and private sector patronage, FACETS Sri Lanka 2009, the 19th International Gem and Jewellery Show will have hundreds of local and foreign exhibitors showcasing their gem and jewellery products and a large number of influential trade visitors from around the world visiting FACETS Sri Lanka 2009 which promises to be ” Bigger and Better” than ever before.
FACETS 2009 promises better overseas participation and wider cosmopolitian exposure. Steady consistent growth and diversification from inception, has been the impetus to both the seasoned trader and novice to put forth quality, from the Pearl of the Indian Ocean.
The event continues to draw crowds of local and foreign visitors and buyers, from the four quarters of the globe. The numbers increase year on year and the foreign participation is steadily growing. Overseas patronage from exotic places in the five continents, year on year out has lent the event, a truly global perspective, which the organizers fine tune to achieve international excellence. Some of the more popular nationalties that faithfully represent the show are the producers and wholesalers from the main gemstone producing regions of Africa, Asia, South America and Australia who exhibit and sell their aesthetic creations at the show.

Profile of Exhibits:
Gemstones- Polished blue sapphires and a variety of other colours, including yellows, pinks and fancy colours, in calibrated and free sizes. Fine padparadscha or orange-pink sapphires from this unique source. Other polished gemstones include Alexandrite, Chrysoberyl, Cats Eye, Aquamarine, Tourmaline, Topaz, Spinel and a range of colourful Quartz. Rough corundum and geuda corundum will also be on exhibit.
Jewellery- Fine sapphire and diamond jewellery in 18-karat yellow/white gold and platinum. Modern silver jewellery with gemstones will also be available.
