Chopard Paris-Gunman Robs USD 8 Million Worth

Jewelry worth about 8.5 million USD was stolen by a single gunman from the Chopard jewelry store at Place Vendome, Paris.

According to CNN, the man held several people at gunpoint before escaping.

No one was injured or killed during the robbery.

It is not known if he had an accomplice waiting for him.

Place Vendome is home to numerous high end jewellers and the Ministry of Justice, France.

Oliver Lebon, a police investigator said that the crime was carried out by a man aged about 50 years wearing a Borsalino-style hat, walked into the store like any other customer and then brought out a gun, held employees with a handgun and was then given jewelry items that were on display.

Chopard, founded in 1860 by Louis-Ulysse Chopard is a Geneva based luxury watch, jewelry and accessory business.

Chopard is owned and run by Caroline Gruosi Scheufele and her brother. Caroline Gruosi is the wife of Fawaz Gruosi, who is also the high end jewelry and watch business. Fawaz Gruosi is the owner of de Grisogono .
